YouTube es una bestia insaciable que vomita imágenes como un ebrio sus miasmas en una noche de intensos luceros y de entre aquel indomable batidillo, si se tienen las vísceras bien amaestradas, se pueden contemplar hallazgos maravillosos que te devuelven la fe en ese monstruo construido con los materiales del exceso videofágico, el porno blando y el espectáculo del “¡Yaaa weey!”. Este fue el caso de la aparición de Freddy Mercury, justo el día cuando ese gran guiñol del rock cumplía dieciocho años de haber partido en una nave sin olvido, en una pieza que no sólo documenta la nostalgia por la venerable banda Queen, sino que juega lúdicamente con sus valores, aportaciones y trascendencia: los Muppets en su muy particular interpretación del clásico inserto en el álbum A Night at the Opera, “Bohemian Rapsody”.
En vez de imitar a Mercury, John Deacon, Roger Taylor y Brian May y convertirse en muñecos guapos de cartón empeluchado, las criaturas de Jim Henson atacaron la melodía con maestría y sentido del humor, encarnaron los contratiempos, percutieron las estrofas y recrearon con elegancia y encanto una pieza musical poblada de historias rudas y complejidades existenciales. “Rapsodia Bohemia” transformada por la banda mopetera (Rufo, el oso Figaredo, los ruquines cínicos de gayola, los cerditos en el espacio…) en un éxtasis de color, alucinaciones aterciopeladas y peluchería a destajo, con el cierre apoteósico de la siempre encantadora y apolínea Miss Piggy. Lo mejor: el momento en que a la Bestia, toda pelos y señales, al momento de cantar aquello de “Mammamía, mammamía, mammamía let me go”, le entra un ataque edípico como de película de Woody Allen. Genial.

rágil y cantando aquello de “Who wants to live forever?”, era víctima de la intolerancia homofóbica y la ignorancia. Quizá fue el momento en el que descubrió el verdadero significado de las palabras que le dedicara a John Lennon en el disco Hot Space: “Life is real/ life is quit/ life is a bitch”.
